Emily Gold Obituary

Emily Gold

Emily Gold passed away on January 13, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. She lived for the past 70 years in San Francisco where she married David Gold, raised her family and subsequently worked as a nursery school teacher at Temple Emmanuel and the Jewish Community Center. Emily was beloved by her children, Barbara, Steven, Diane, and Elaine, her 10 grandchildren, two sons-in-law, siblings, extended family, and many friends. Her warmth, generosity and kindness brought joy and happiness to all she touched. In later years, she and her late husband, David, supported hundreds of social causes including early childhood development, environmental stewardship, health and education for over 20 years through the David B. Gold Foundation. She is now at peace, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
