Edward was born on February, 2, 1924, in New Bedford, MA, son of Andrew and Cathrene (Urban) Garczynski. He graduated from Purdue University in 1951 with a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Edward was a US Navy veteran of WW II and served as Quartermaster on the battleship U.S.S. Iowa, and on the staff of Admiral T.R. Cooley on the battleships U.S.S. Washington and the U.S.S. North Carolina. On June 5, 1954, he married Gertrude Schroeder. He was a member of the Sheboygan Falls Lions Club and the Curt Joa golf league. Edward was an avid sports fan, enjoyed sailing, boat building, playing cards, Suduko, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He built a 42 ft. lobster boat that is still used today.
