CHRISTOPHER ZITKOVICH Obituary

Christopher was called home to the Lord, Saturday, January 11, 2014.

Christopher was born July 1, 1988, to John and Mickey Zitkovich and lived his entire life with his sister, Kayla and brother, Keegun in Concrete, Washington.

Christopher graduated with the class of 2006, attending both elementary and high school in Concrete.

Growing up, Christopher had an insatiable curiosity and a spirited sense of adventure. He loved climbing trees, and building forts and other contraptions, limited only by the materials at hand and his vivid imagination. Christopher was a lovable, energetic and happy-go-lucky dare devil who earned a few memorable trips to the ER. The Fourth of July was Christopher's favorite holiday, as he liked big explosions and fireworks.

Christopher greatly valued his family, friends and enjoyed his fellow firefighters and Med. 7 family.

As an adult, Christopher's passions included being a volunteer for the Grassmere Fire Department and an Emergency Medical Technician for Aero Skagit as well as installing avionics in airplanes. He was technologically inclined, fiddling with computers and electronics.

Christopher is survived by his parents, sister and brother at their family home, as well as his grandparents, John and Kathy Woodworth and Russ and Peggy Staton, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who will dearly miss him.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Steve and Therese Zitkovich and cousin, Shane Zitkovich.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 17, 2014, at the Community Bible Church, 7282 North D Ave., Concrete, with Pastors Rob Thomas and Bruce Martin presiding.

The Graveside Service will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, Concrete.

Friends are invited to join the family in a reception at the CCD Center, corner of Limestone and E Ave., Concrete.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Grassmere Fire Department, PO Box 2008, Concrete, or Aero Skagit, PO Box 705, Concrete, WA 98237.

I met Chris his Senior year at a friend's birthday, and ever since that very first time, any time and anywhere I saw him, didn't matter what was going on, he was always smiling, like he was in on this exclusive joke that no one was allowed to be in on. I remember some of his "experiments" with dry ice, and how he was always looking forward to the next adventure. I'm definitely going to miss him. He was such a great person! I am keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers and in my heart during these hard times. Love you Chris, I'm so sad that you're gone. I guess it just means that you're already onto your greatest adventure yet :) Have fun up there!! :)

We rode the bus together for years and I remember Chris as insanely funny, and incredibly intelligent. His humor is what I will remember most about Chris...he was always able to make us laugh. I haven't seen him in a couple years, and I was profoundly saddened to hear this news.

John, Mickey, Kayla and Keegun, I am so sorry for this tremendous loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. All my love to you.

Mickey, John, Kayla, Keegun:
My heart breaks for you on the passing of Chris, no words can make it ok. Just remember that you and everyone that came in contact with him are the fortunate ones to have known him during his time here. He is a good young man and I know in my heart that Shane was there to greet Chris... as a big brother would do; with a warm and protective embrace.

All my love to you guys.

Christopher your wonderful smile will be missed so much. I watched you grow up and will always remember what an awesome kid you were, it didn't matter if you were hitting a home run or getting flattened in football, you always came up with a silly grin. You will be forever missed but will always be in my heart.
