SOUTH BEND - Carol Y. Swindle, 85, of South Bend, IN., passed away at 6:05 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 in her residence.
Carol was born on May 14, 1935 in Gilmore, IN, to Herman and Blanche (Worth) Coleman.
On September 5, 1955 Carol married Sam H. Swindle. Sam preceded her in death on July 26, 2008.
Carol was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Donna DuBois, Phyllis Nelson, Bernice Wiley and Maxine Nelson and one brother, Charles Coleman.
Carol is survived by three brothers: Harold Coleman, James Coleman and Harry Coleman. Also surviving, a daughter, Janice Swindle of South Bend;two sons: Danny (Beth Ann) Swindle of New Port, MI and Thomas Swindle of Benson, AZ; seven grandchildren; Jeremy Swindle, Joshua Swindle, Jamie Cooper, Kevin Swindle, Brittany Swindle, Hailee Swindle and Tyler Swindle and three great-grandchildren.
Carol attended First Baptist in Elberta, AL and Lakeside Baptist in Lakeville, IN.
Funeral services for Carol will be on Friday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka where visitation will take place on Thursday, April 29 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Pastor Warren Kirkwood will officiate the services with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery in South Bend. Memorial contributions Can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
