Cecil Duane YOUNGS

YOUNGS, Cecil Duane September 9, 1940 - October 15, 2015 Cecil went home to be with the Lord October 15, 2015, in Spokane, Washington. He was born September 9, 1940, in Erickson, Nebraska to Alva and Violet Justus Youngs. They moved to Kennewick, Washington in 1947. In 1959 Cecil graduated from Kennewick High School. It was there that he met Darlene Sondermann. They were married in 1960 and had three children: Micheal, Donna, and Christine. Cecil worked at Boise Cascade from 1959 to 1965. He then became a journeyman ironworker, a proud member for over 50 years of ironworkers local 14. This work took him all over the Northwest, as well as California and Alaska. Cecil love to camp, fish, hike and hunt. Cecil was very artistic. When he was away from his little children, he would send them small watercolor pictures that he had painted which included a small animal for them to find. He also was a talented woodcarver. After he retired he enjoyed traveling and in his last year's enjoyed fellowship with believers and reading the Bible. Cecil was preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as his brothers: Dallas, Ralph, and Stanley. Leaving his sisters: Phyllis Tompkins and LaRee Jennings. He leaves behind Darlene Youngs, his wife of 52 years, and their children: Michael Youngs, Kennewick, WA; Donna Williams (Micheal), Blaine WA; Christine Schaff, Renton, WA; and their grandchildren: Gabriel Williams (Dylan), David Williams (Kara), Hannah Ainley (Ben) and Jaxen Schaff. The Memorial Service in Kennewick will be announced in the spring. The Memorial Service in Spokane will be October 30th, 2:00 PM at Sozo church.
