Mary, and All the Poker Guys:
I'm stunned! I first met Gary 20 years ago when our 2 poker groups began to "commingle." I have fond memories of many Wednesday and Thursday nights at the table for many years. What a funny, friendly, smart guy (and a good cook too!)

Dr. Gary Blackmore was unique in the field and practice of medicine. He was genuine, kind and big-hearted. The characteristic that best describes Dr. Blackmore would be compassionate. The importance he attached to his patient's well-being, was in every way, authentic. Dr. Blackmore was a "good", in every literal sense of the word, man. Honor and truth remained at a high level, in his medical practice.
He will be missed by me, Assisi and everyone that knew him.
MAY GARY'S FAMILY FEEL, THE LORD'S COMFORT, LOVE AND PEACE.

Dr. Blackmore helped me and my loved ones during a very trying time in my life. I will never forget him.
He was thoughtful, gentle and one of the best doctors I ever worked with.
He had a fresh perspective on my situation and taught me that my feelings and life, counted.

This is a huge loss for the recovery field. I will miss him.

Mary, I know not what to say, except that my thoughts are with you and others in the family.

"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words. And God, who searches the heart, knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." Romans 8

Gary was a beloved uncle. I am so grateful for the time I had with him and that he could be with Mary at the end. He was the love of her life. It will be hard to have Thanksgiving without him; he was the best cook I know. He was rock and steady presence for our family and he will be missed.

I am so sorry and sad to read this. I had brief medication review sessions with Dr. Blackmore over the years and remember his kindly smile and reassurance and the loving way he would share wisdom from his wife.
He will be missed.

I worked with Gary in the 80's at St. Marys. Everyone loved working with Gary. He had fresh new ideas. and was so easy to work with. He made a challenging job alot of fun. I could go no and "talk story" about the social events we were all part of almost to numerous to mention. Let me say He was a bright spot in our day . We loved him and it goes with out saying that his patients loved him too. RIP my friend. Shirley (Rettler) Herrmann
