Dear Dawn, Nicholas and Alex,
We were so saddened to hear of your loss. Devin's heart is aching for Nicholas, and our entire family hurts for all of you. Dawn - Please know we are here for anything you need. It was obvious for all of us to see how much Dave loved you and the boys. Nicholas and Alex - Your dad was so proud of being involved in your lives at school and sporting events, and we witnessed that more than once as he volunteered as a soccer and basketball coach. He clearly loved you all very deeply. Although it must be so difficult to imagine life without him, God has taken him to an amazing place where he will always watch over each of you and be a presence in your lives forever. Because I worked with David closely for so long, I can say this with absolute certainty...he loved you, your boys and his girls more than anything in this world. He sang your praises every day. No words come to mind that could possibly help with how you must feel. I can't help but wonder if Dave is trying to figure it all out now that he is in heaven and with our savior. The words from Mercyme come to my mind; "Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel, will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still, will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall, will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all I can only imagine".
