Sherri Crossman Obituary

Sherri Lynn Crossman, of Addy, Washington, passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 9, 2019, in Addy.
She was born on Dec. 22, 1961, in Wellington, Kansas, to parents Vernon and Shirley (Mills) Lippoldt. She loved and appreciated her parents deeply, and often said that she grew up in the perfect home. Her love for friends and family was the very core of her personality.
Sherri was raised in Haysville, Kansas, attending primary school and graduating from Campus High School with the class of 1980.
During her early high school days, she met Darren Crossman, and the two became high school sweethearts. They would eventually go their separate ways, but would reunite 40 years later.
After graduating, Sherri found work as a floral designer and had an exceptional eye and ability for floral design. She also worked for Wichita Thunder, which is the minor league hockey team in Wichita, Kansas, in the promotional department.
Sherri found her dream job some years later working in the music industry, moving to Branson, Missouri, and working for recording artists, such as Paul Revere and the Raiders, Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers, Tony Roi, and her favorite family, The Osmonds, specifically Merrill. '
She reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Darren, five years ago and rekindled their relationship.
The two were wed on his front porch on Oct. 24, 2016. They honeymooned in Ocean Shores, Washington, as the beach was a place that was very near and dear to Sherri's heart.
She enjoyed going for walks on the beach and collecting sea shells. She was extremely creative and used the beach as inspiration for her decorating motifs in and around their home.
Sherri loved country music and was so happy for the opportunity to see Garth Brooks in concert twice the last time he was in Spokane.
She was the most "real" person you could meet; generous, sincere, sensitive and caring. She had a smile that would light up a room.
Sherri was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Lippoldt. She is survived by her husband, Darren; step-children, Wesley Crossman and Kelsie Crossman; parents, Vernon and Shirley Lippoldt; sister, Bobbie (Phil) Hopper, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dogs, Scarlett and Hazel.
A memorial service will be held in her home state of Kansas at a later time. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Colville Valley Animal Sanctuary at www.cvasanctuary.org/donate with Sherri Lippoldt Crossman's name in the comment line.

Sherri, I miss you daily. You are forever in my heart and when I look out to sea, I think of you. Your love of the beach and its wildlife.
You hoped after this life you would live with the dolphins. I imagine you with them.
You are one of the kindest people I have known and I treasure the friendship we had

It´s been about 2 1/2 years Aunt Sherri and it STILL feels like it´s only been a few hours since you left. I never realized that you were part of my every single day since my birth in 78. I cannot get past accepting you´ve gone & I search for you everywhere and in everything. You were SUPPOSED to come to Hawaii to meet your new nephew. He was only 6 months when you passed. Interestingly, my middle child (your spirit animal) is so very much like YOU and it´s as if I still have you here with me through her. I´m sure you spend a lot of time trying to keep a step ahead of her.

Sherri was my great aunt, and a great one at that. I found out about her passing the morning of Dec. 9 HST, and I remember feeling heart broken. Sherri, may your journey be blessed and your heart be shared.

Sherri,
I wouldn't have made it through high school without us being attached at the hips. I have too many memories to put down but one that will never leave me was, on the phone I asked you what your dad was doing and you said "lying on the couch". Then I said, "what is your mom doing?" You said "washing dad's hair". You got the biggest kick out of my shock!! Teaching me how to make the best fried rice and some shrimp dish (the name escapes me). Eating pop tarts and shifting your blue bug as fast as we could to not be late to school one more time. I love you Sherri, always will, my dear friend, Rest In Peace, until I see you again! Make sure you have your microphone because I've missed the days we got to sing with Donny and Marie.

Sherri I could never put everything I want in this box. So, I will say that I don't know how I would have made it through high school without you, my BFF. I love you!

Reconnected on Facebook with Sherri a couple years ago...had met her, like many, when she took photos for Tony Roi in Branson 2006...was so happy she had found a new path in her life with Darren...was lucky to get to see her one last time last summer at a Jerry Presley show in Branson...I'll never hear "What Now My Love" again without thinking of Sherri..as she said she cried when Jerry sang it..said she loved that song so much and was glad he sang it...Elvis brought so many together with his music...prayers up for her family and friends...rest in peace, Sherri

Sherri, you came into my life in 2004, it was meant to be. Within the next two years I lost my parents and even though we had a big pond between us, you were such a comfort. You were so kind and caring to all those around you. You have affected so many lives, in such a positive way. Along with many others I miss you every day. Love and prayers to all Sherri's family and friends xx

I played guitar for Bill Medley in 2010 at the Starlite Theater in Branson. Sherri would come in and see us on many occasions. After the 2010 season Bill let me go and I was on my way back to the Northwest when I saw Sherri in a TJ Max in Springfield MO. She gave me a number to call and explained that Tony Roi wanted me to be his guitar player for the 2011 season at the Moon River Theater. Not only did I get the gig with Tony but I also got the Christmas show 2011 with Andy Williams. I owe it all to Sherri! She was wonderful spirit and the world is one less great person in it.
