Eva Hamiton Obituary

Eva Mae Hamilton, a longtime member of the Colville community, passed away on February 10, 2024, at her Colville home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 90. Eva was born on July 27, 1933 to Carl and Mary (Challinor) Warner in Deer Park, Washington.

Eva and her family would relocate when she was in the 3rd grade to Lead Point, above Deep Lake, where she would spend the rest of her childhood. Eva met returning Korean War Veteran, Sam Brothers and the two would be wed in 1953; going on to welcome a son, Robert in 1960. Eva would stay with her family in Spokane while attending beauty school, and a few short years later, Eva would open her first beauty shop in the old King Coles building. Throughout the years, she would relocate her shop 2 more times, with her second shop below Franks Pharmacy, and a final move to the corner of 3rd and Main St; her girls at the shop always came along with her. In 1993, Eva would marry a former classmate, Tom Hamilton, and the two would spend the next 30 years in wedded bliss.

When she wasn't running the shop, Eva had an impeccable sense of style and an angelic singing voice. She loved to go sing at karaoke, and her singing could bring the most jaded barfly to tears in an instant. Combined with how well she was always put together, when Eva walked in for karaoke, all eyes were instantly on her. She would even use her voice to uplift the local seniors, singing at the nursing home. Eva had a great bit of skill in other arts as well, knitting and cross stitching many unique and eye-catching designs over the years. Every Christmas season, everyone in the family, along with the girls at the shop, would receive a box of seasonal goodies, including taffy, caramels, and peanut brittle, among several other sweet treats.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Challinor.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom, as well as her son, Robert Brothers; her grandchildren, Dani and Tori; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Eva will be laid to rest at the Mountain View Park Cemetery on May 31, 2024 at 11am.
