Loretta Boutin Obituary
BOUTIN Boutin, Loretta Goudreau, of Woodbury, CT and Elk Rivet Country Club, Banner Elk, NC died at her home in Quail West Country Club in Naples, FL October 9, 2002. She was the wife of Gilbert R. Boutin for 62 years. Prior to living in Naples for the last eight years they had lived in Boca Raton and Coral Springs, FL. Mrs. Boutin was born in Berlin, NH of Josephine Brodeur Goudreau and Joseph Goudreau. She was educated in the Berlin schools. She and her husband maintained a long interest in Berlin Catholic education. Several years ago they established the Gilbert R. and Loretta G. Boutin scholarship program for all qualified needy students at St. Michael Catholic School. Through the Gilbert R. and Loretta G. Boutin Foundation they supported many philanthropic causes especially for the needy children in Haiti, Guatemala and Applachia for many years. Mrs. Boutin was an avid golfer and was a member of many golf clubs over the years. At the time of her death she was a member of Quail West Country Club in Naples FL, Elk River Country Club in Banner Elk, NC a long time member of the Waterbury Country Club in Waterbury, CT and the Connecticut Women's Golf Association. She had "7" holes in one accomplishing 2 of them in the same week on the same hole in St. Andrew's Country Club in Boca Raton, FL where she was a member. Mrs. Boutin was Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the various companies in the family owned Boutin Industries Corp.: Mattatuck Automotive Group a major supplier to Detroit OEM of control cables and transmission and parking mechanisms, Mattatuck Electronic Technologies, LORGIL Engineered Plastics Co, C.S Electrical Sales and Engineering Co., Mattatuck Cycle Parts Co. and Arrowhead International Cosmetics Co. Mrs. Boutin owned and was President of Goudreau Commercial Realty Co., The Mattatuck Manufacturing Co. building in Waterbury, CT as well as industrial plants in Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee were owned by her Realty Company, Goudreau Realty also leased commercial and industrial property as well. In 1974 at the invitation of the Polish Government and with approval of the United States Department of State, the Boutin's, through their Arrowhead International Cosmetics Co. developed and constructed cosmetic facilities in Warsaw and Krakow Poland. In appreciation of their efforts they were awarded Poland's "Order of Merit" for their contribution to the country. She is survived by her husband, a daughter Laurie Ann McCafferty and a granddaughter Cherie Ann McCafferty of Coral Springs, FL and preceded by her son, David John and her five brothers and four sisters. There are no calling hours and funeral is private. Funeral arrangements are by WALTER SHIKANY'S BONITA FUNERAL HOME of Bonita Springs, FL and Munson Funeral Woodbury, CT. Burial was in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Watertown, CT.
