Carla on my mind this morning. One of sisters good friends growing up. I remember scaring her and laughing. Years later, when I thought of it I felt sorry. She was a good soul. I remember how broken up my sis was when she died. Since then she has come to mind many times. My sympathy to the family. David

Dear Joy and all of Carla's Family,
I had the pleasure of sitting in front of Carla in homeroom for our four years at CCHS. I loved her smile and great personality. She brightened all of our lives.
May you find comfort in fond memories.
Remember Me
It is true I am not here in the physical sense anymore, but you have traces of me left in many familiar places:
You'll hear expressions that remind you of our conversations; You'll see beautiful things that remind you of our adventures together; Something will make you cry, and you'll remember a time when we shared tears and comforted each other and felt better. You'll laugh at something, and it will remind you of a time when we laughed together at a movie, or a card, or just a funny situation.
So, my friend, there will be times when it hurts to remember.
It's o.k. to cry, and you may not feel strong sometimes, but I know you have an inner strength. Rely on it and try to move ahead.
Know that you hold a special place in my heart, and that your presence added to my life.
Use these memories to help you when things get you down and you need an extra smile.
When you do or see the things we enjoyed together, know that I am still there in your heart and in your memory.
Remember the happiness we shared.
Until that day when we meet again, live your life to the fullest as I did, and share yourself with others.
So, my treasured friend, until we meet again … remember me.

Like so many who knew her, I have many funny stories and fond memories of Carla. Most of all though, I will always remember her kindness, her spirit and her general love of life. Carla would brighten (both figuratively, and through her love of fashion "accessories", literally) every room she walked into.
I believe there were few, if any, people who were fortunate enough to know her who weren't touched by her presence in their life and who aren't saddened by her passing. Carla will most definitely be missed but, even more importantly, will forever be fondly remembered.

I want to express my condolences over your loss of Carla. Its been a few years since we have seen each other but I'll always remember her as a smiling, happy kid...aka Charlie. I am sorry I won't be able to attend her memorial services in Troy but I will always remember her as an awesome girl. Just too young.

I am so deeply shocked and saddened to hear the passing of my dear friend Carla. She had such a fighting spirit with such beauty and poise. She was so genuinely kind and loving. Even on any dark days she emanated sunshine for all to see. You were one of a kind my dear friend. We may have lost touch but my beautiful memories of you will sustain many until we meet again. It was a privilege to go to St. Augustine school and Catholic Central high school with Carla. She lit up the room when she walked in, she was so vivacious and full of energy all the time, she truly will be missed my heartfelt condolences go to her family and her young daughter and husband.
