With power, love and a sound mind; and no matter the threat to life or fortune, Clifton Lewis was not faint-hearted in speaking out against the ugly injustices of her time. And I am persuaded that this righteous, eternal spirit that dwelt in her lives in the hearts of those who knew her. For this, I have been well-rewarded. Even so, I miss her.

I have precious memories of time spent with Clifton as a child, boats in bottles and making hanging cylinder lamps out of waxed paper and shells, It was better than Disney and I cherish the memories. I am sadly unable to attend the memorial service and send my sincere condolences to the all the family.

My favorite memory of Clifton was at St. Theresa having a tea party in the gazebo. I have so many fond memories of talking with her. I'm going to miss her very much. My prayers go out to all of you.

As with everyone she touched, my late wife Jolene, my son Colin, and I never had a dull moment around this enthusiastic (to say the least) and kindly person. She and the rest of the Lewis family are very close to my heart. Requiescat in pace, Clifton!
