Lauren Potratz Obituary

POTRATZ, Lauren 28, of St. Petersburg, left us far too soon on Saturday, May 30th, 2009. Born in Grand Junction, Colorado on Oct. 24, 1980, Lauren moved to Pinellas County before entering Seminole High School where she was on the basketball and swimming team. She also played clarinet in the marching band, where she met the love of her life and father of her children, Scott Evans. Her children are Coral, 10, Raiden, 4, and Xander, 1. She moved to St. Petersburg in 1999. She enjoyed camping, bowling, the Rays, and being with her family. She worked for Pinellas County Schools. Her parents, Patricia Hauer and David Potratz and her sisters, Rebecca and Jessica will miss the shining light that was Lauren. She was dearly loved by her grandmother and her loving aunts and uncle. She was a great mother, daughter, sister, and friend and she will be loved forever. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm Wednesday at Reese Funeral Home, 6767 Seminole Blvd., Seminole.

I was so happy to see how many people attended the celebration of Lauren's life yesterday. It is clear that Lauren touched so many people's lives. May her parents, Jessica, Becca, Scott, Coral, Raiden, and Xander take comfort in knowing how much she is loved and will be missed. The world is a darker place today, for having lost such a brightly shining light. You all are always in my prayers.

To the Family:
My deepest sympathies go out to you and particularly to the three precious little lives she leaves behind to mourn her loss. Lauren was a co-worker and it was her habit to be helpful and willing to pitch in where ever she was needed.

My prayer is that you will find the comfort and solace that will get you through the coming days. Be encouraged in the knowledge that she is free from the cares and sorrows of this world.

Dear Family,
Our hearts are broken, and no words can express the sorrow and loss. Ever since we met Lauren, with her smile, beauty-both inside and out, and bubbly personality, we have loved her. She has brought such joy and sunshine to all. Our hope in God, and His strength will see us all through until we are reunited with her again. The Hughes Family
