I remember Mr. Gannon well. I taught with him at West Side from 78-82. He was a fine gentleman. I dont think I ever saw him perturbed by anyone or anything. My deepest sympathies.

My father, a favorite at the piano and your father, excellent on drums, were friends and band mates for many years in the Stonington/Mystic area. Charlie was always excited to see Bill Girls, this is Bill Gannon. You remember him? Of course we did. Bill was tall, handsome, charming, kind and unforgettable. So sorry to read his name here. Most sincere condolences to his family. What a loss.

Mr Gannon was my 7th grade teacher and homeroom as well. He sure was a great teacher, he made me want to do better.
I met Shiela at Fitch her sophomore year I believe and kind of moved from Westside at that point. I asked Shiela to go on a date with me and come time pick her up at her house, who but Mr Gannon answered the door. GULP!!! He put me at ease and off we went on our first date. Sorry to hear of your families loss. He was a classy gentleman. God Bless...

My days at West Side taught me so much and Mr. Gannon was a big contributor. I will always remember how he instilled the love he had for whatever subject we were on - he was a gentle motivator! Another angel in heaven for sure.

I had Mr. Gannon for social studies at Westside middle school back in the mid-70's. He was a kind and caring teacher, and loved the students he taught. Prayers and thoughts to his family in this very difficult time.

A true Renaissance man by anyones definition. You were a gentleman a scholar and an artist. Always present and always genuine. The greatest generation reference was referring explicitly to you as you served your country your community and your family. Rest In Peace Dad.
