Dear Joan, Len and I were so sad to learn of Bob's death. His time with you and Aidan and Alex in the white house on the Bostwick Rd. was idyllic and joy-filled...a wonderful life. My deepest sympathy. Love, Casey.

Dear Joan,
You and Bob were such a significant part of my years at Cornell. You helped shaped my undergraduate career and, more importantly, helped me discover what I wanted to get out of life. You guys were so much more than just research mentors; you were family. Ben and I are so saddened by Bob's passing. But we take solace in the fact that someone who influenced and touched so many people will continue to live on by virtue of his long lasting impact in our own lives.

Dear Joan (and family),
We were very sad to hear of Bob's death. We have so many memories of the old days in Ithaca: the assistant professors' banquet, skiing on your land, getting together to play games or cook dinner. Bob was smart, funny and a good friend. You have our fondest thoughts. Sue and Jim

Dear Joan,
Bob and I were so sad to hear of Bob's death. Though it's been many years, we've been reminiscing with pleasure about our Cornell Psych Dept Assistant Professors' group with its banquets and other festive events in mock defiance of the tenured professors some of us eventually became, Bob with maybe the longest tenure at Cornell? Love and sympathy to you, Alec and Aidan.

I am so sad to hear of Bob's death, joan. You and Bob were among Ron's and my first friends in Ithaca when we arrived in 1971. You were so kind and welcoming as we tried to find a sense of home in Ithaca. I always enjoyed Bob's humor and gentle nature, and yours as well. He will be missed. Love to you and your sons.
