Larry Paciello Obituary
Larry V. Paciello died unexpectedly of heart failure at his home in Boca Raton, FL on March 18, 2017. Larry was born on July 4, 1949 in Wellsboro, PA to Dr. Vincent X. and Doris Paciello, who predeceased him. He attended public schools in Wellsboro and Ithaca, graduating from Ithaca High School and thereafter attending Ithaca College.
Larry's lifelong work and passion was painting and his art was shown in numerous exhibitions and galleries in central New York, New York City and Boca Raton. Almost as important to him was cooking as he derived great pleasure from feeding his many friends and family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Joanne deRoza Pettis Paciello, his stepson Aaron (Nikki) Pettis of Ocean Springs, MS, stepson Jason (Kim) Pettis of Massapequa Park, NY, his sisters Patricia Strauss of Jacksonville, NY and Dorna (Richard) Virgo of Bradenton, FL and nephews, a niece and several cousins.
Larry's infectious laugh, impish spirit and terrific lasagna will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be held in Ithaca later in the year.

Larry wasn´t just an artist and a chef. He was also a musician so he won the trifecta of talents.

Oh my gosh, when we first came to Ithaca Larry rented from us at 230 Pleasant St on the third floor. He was a furious painter at that time. When he left, he left behind many watercolors, and I was so happy. I still have them today. My love to all who loved him.

Larry was always around growing up and one of my father's best friends. One of my earliest memories was thinking he was Pavoratti of the Three Tenors. I couldn't have been any older than 2 or 3 years old. Thinking of Larry always brings back great memories from my childhood.

I was very saddened to hear of Larry's death...He was a friend during junior and high school; a kind, talented and funny man with a sense of humor all his own...I bumped into him fairly recently in Homer, NY when we were both watching the performance of a local band. It was so good to see him again... Sad to think of the world without him in it...My condolences to his wife and family. Sue Webster/ Ithaca, NY
