Shumate's Appliance Repair
AUBURNDALE - Mr. Billy Dean Shumate passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011 due to complications from a fall.
He was born on June 29, 1936 in Oxford, GA. He was a graduate of Auburndale High School and Polk Vocational-Technical Center. Prior to his retirement he was owner of Shumate's Appliance Repair. He enjoyed sharing his faith in Christ and telling people about his family whenever given the opportunity.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Pearley and Clarence, stepmother Elsie, brothers Carmen, Lewis, and Lester, sister Shelby, and three infant sons. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth, his son Chris (Lisa), grandchildren Bryan, Lindsey, and Alayna, brothers Bobby, Victor and Otis, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Billy's life will be held from 7:00-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Auburndale Life Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Auburndale Life Church Building Fund, 581 Berkley Road, Auburndale, FL 33823.

Uncle Billy you were the kindest, sweetest, Uncle a girl could have had. I have so many good memories of you & our family. I can hear the music playing with you, Uncle Lester, and Uncle Lewis picking and singing while the rest of the folks clap their hands and sing along. What a joyous reunion.
