Louis DeLeo Obituary

Louis Victor (Lou) DeLeo

Winter Haven - Louis (Lou) Victor DeLeo of Winter Haven, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on August 19, 2021. Lou was 76 years old. He was born in New Kensington, PA and moved to Florida in 1984.

Lou was the youngest of 11 children and was raised by his older sisters and Aunt Jay after the passing of his mother, a month after his birth. He was married to his first wife, Marcia, for 27 years. They have 2 daughters. He then married his second wife Dana in 2002 and they have a son. He worked for Zayre Department Store as a District Manager for many years and the in 1992, he decided it was time to work for himself and put all his energy into opening his own restaurant. On May 14, 1992 his dream came true to be his own boss, and he along with his family celebrated the opening of Beef O' Brady's, Winter Haven. In his younger days, Lou enjoyed playing racquetball and softball. He also enjoyed golfing. He was an avid part of the community and a huge supporter of the youth sports organizations in Polk County. One of his biggest passions was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has been a season ticket holder for almost 50 years and would attend several games a season. He also had a passion for baseball. He enjoyed coaching his son at a young age and then cheering him from the stands as he grew older.

He is survived by his three children Michelle Wright, Nicole DeLeo-Beatty and Dylan DeLeo, all of Winter Haven; 3 grandchildren- Taylor Ramirez (Magyla), Raegan Beatty and Hunter Wright; 2 great grandsons Noah and Jaxson; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He will forever be loved and missed by all. Lou is proceeded in his death by his parents Cosimo DeLeo and Maria DeLeo from New Kensington, PA, his sisters Minerva Cardinale, Marie DeLeo, Edith DeLeo, Alvira DeLeo, Eleanor Chertik, Gloria DeLeo, and his brothers Patsy DeLeo, Patsy DeLeo II, Joseph DeLeo, and Cosimo DeLeo Jr., all from New Kensington, PA.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Oakridge Funeral Care of Winter Haven. There will be a visitation from 6-8 p.m. August 25th and a second visitation at 10 a.m. August 26th, followed by a service at 11 a.m. Burial service will be at Rolling Hills Cemetery on Lucerne Park Road. Immediately following there will be a drop in gathering at The Catering Company on Havendale Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center

Well now I know where you moved to from pittsburgh. We had great memories working as dept managers . I think we pretended to work more than anything. My sincere condolences to your family, I only found this obituary 1/5/26. Lou was just such a great person to be around. This was sad news for me.
