TAMPA - On June 30, 2012, Beloved "Wayway", Waylon Blane Cochran, was lifted on the wings of Angel's from the loving arms of his mother, Jennifer, into the arms of our Almighty God, leaving us with only memories and pictures of his beautiful, big hearted smile. The Angel's came for Wayway at 2:35 p.m. at St. Joseph's Children Hospital, in Tampa, Fl.
Waylon was born on February 13th, 2003 at Lakeland Regional Hospital to Jennifer Marlow and Waylon Cochran. He was a 9th generation Floridian who loved to play with his dog's, Vader, Chaos, and Yeller, and loved to swim, fish, and ride his 4 wheeler and dirt bike.
He was a member of the Lone Oak Missionary Baptist Church in Plant City, Fl. Over 4,400 warrior's joined in a prayer chain to pray for Waylon's healing, but God had other plan's. God had the last word, and we cannot doubt he has a greater plan for Wayway, though we know not what that plan will be.
His favorite refrain to his mother's "I love you", was "I love you the mostest".
There are many stories that can be told of Wayway. He had already completed his degree in "Master of Imagination" and was working on his Doctorate. In Kindergarten, Waylon wrote this story: "I want to be a soldier. I will be President. I will be elected President. After I be the President, everyone will call me Sir Jack."
Waylon loved having story's made up and told to him by his Meme, Terri Mae, when she would take him to school. She got to tell him one last story on Saturday before he sailed away forever. She told him of "Wayway's adventure to Africa by ship". She told him he would sail a big ship, and everyone would know he was the best Captain At sea.
On the day's that Papa Mike took him to school, they would stop and feed a neighbor's donkey, whom Wayway called "Eeyore", from Winnie the Pooh. Papa Mike would talk to him about what the day's plans were and what might be going on Grandfather to grandson, a special bond, never to be broken.
So many wonderful stories., like Wayway and Uncle Carson, being naughty, playing pranks on Nana Nancy, such as covering her with make-up while she slept, and on Papa Van, by painting his truck, or climbing a tree and yelling for his daddy to come get him down. His daddy instead climbed further up the tree, shook it, and little Wayway learned he could climb down on his own.
Waylon was an energetic little boy who loved life and playing with his dogs. He and his Uncle Carson would throw toys into the pool, and then hold to the dog's tail as they jumped in to retrieve the toy, in effect jumping in with the dogs.
There are too many memorable stories to be told about Waylon in this small space, however, there is a Facebook page set up called "Remember Waylon Cochran-Memory Book". People can go there and post their favorite memories of Waylon.
To Wayway:..."Walk tall, little man, you well deserve the new body God has given you. You'll be in our memories for the rest of OUR lives. Love you, Sir Jack, now sail those great heavenly ocean's, and keep it always into the wind."
Waylon fought an unknown lung disease for over three weeks. During this time an outpouring of love was heaped on this family that can never be repaid.. He leaves behind a long list of loved ones to include: His mother, Jennifer Marlow and step-father Brad Caruthers of Bradley, FL; father, Waylon Cochran of Mulberry, FL; brothers, Layton Cochran, Kolby and Brody Caruthers; sister, Haylee Caruthers; Maternal Grandparents, Mike & Terri Phillips of Willow Oak, FL; Paternal Grandparents, Van & Nancy Cochran of Lakeland, FL., Blake & Carey Caruthers of Duette, FL; Uncles, Logan "Logee" and Carson Cochran, "Uncle" Jordan Phillips, Derek Beaty and Cody Caruthers; aunts, Julie "JuJu" Marlow and Morgan "Morgee" Cochran. Numerous Great and Great Great Aunts and Uncles.
SERVICES: Willow Oak Baptist Church, Mulberry, FL 33860. Viewing: Thursday 4-5 p.m. family, 5-7 friends. Funeral Friday 10 a.m. Both viewing and services are at Willow Oak and is open to everyone.
