FORT MEADE - Mr. Michael E. Tankersley, age 67, died April 21, 2015, in Lake Wales.
Born in Winter Haven, FL, on August 19, 1947, he was a lifelong resident of Polk County. He worked in sales of building supplies and was a member of Parkland Baptist Church.
Mr. Tankersley was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Margaret Madden Tankersley; and sister Janice Lay. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Chuck & Lou, Stone Mountain, GA, Pat & Wanda, Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law Larry Lay, Auburndale, FL; 9 nieces and nephews; 22 great nieces and nephews.
Memories of Mike: Uncle Buck, Broms, Indians Under the Bed, Put Your Face Up Here and numerous characters.
A Family reunion will be held at a later date.

I didnt know that Tank had passed until today. He was a great guy and friend. I have great memories of hunting with him at my Club In SC. Everytime i see the mallard ducks he gave our camp, i think of him. So sorry for the loss. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace my friend.

So sorry to here of Mike's passing. I have fond memories of our hunting expeditions, cheating in class and many laughs. My God bless you and your family in your time of loss.
