Laurence Whitehead

MULBERRY -- Mr. Laurence A. Whitehead of Mulberry died of heart failure Tuesday (Dec. 28, 2004) at home. He was 77. Born in Rockroyal, N.Y., on April 18, 1927, he came to Mulberry from Tampa 31 years ago. He was a shipping and receiving manager for rubber and accessories. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakeland. Mr. Whitehead is survived by his wife, Evelyn Whitehead; sons, Larry Whitehead, Miami, Laurence Whitehead, Harry Whitehead, both of New York, John Ammermann, Fred Ammermann, both of Lakeland; daughters, Dawn Hewitt, Jacksonville, Debra Vazquez, Brandon; sisters, Hilda Stoop, Ohio, Sis Boorom, New York; brothers, Waynie Whitehead, New York, Darwin Whitehead, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at A.M. Seigler Funeral Home, Highway 60 East, Mulberry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Gift of Remembrance Headquarters, 1101 N. Lake Destiny Road, No. 415, Maitland, 32751-7105.
