Luke Osvirk Obituary

OSVIRK -The passing of Luke Osvirk of Outlook, SK occurred on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the Outlook & District Pioneer Home at the age of 73 years. Luke is survived by his two daughters, Bev Osvrik of Saskatoon and Mona (Lyndon) Larson and granddaughter, Amber of Outlook, SK; two brothers, Wayne (Marie) Oscvirk of Grandora, SK and David (Betty) Oscvirk of St. Catherines, ON; four sisters, Ruby, Kozub of St. Catherines, ON, Esther (Ted) Usick of St. Catherines, ON, Tress Grunerud of Kimberley, BC and Deanna Osvirk of Vancovuer, BC; sister-in-law, Bess Osvirk and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and other relatives. He was predeceased by his wife, Regina (2000); an infant daughter and by two brothers, Martin (Swanie) Osvirk and Wilf Osvirk. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's United Church in Outlook, SK with Barry Friesen officiating. Interment will take place in the Outlook Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are in care of the Outlook Funeral Chapel.

As one of Luke's caregivers from the Pioneer Home I can say he always kept up his good humour and kind ways. He had nick names for staff and residents and he liked to call me Tress after his sister. He never wanted to be a burden to us, wanting to care for himself when he could. He will be missed deeply. My sincere condolences to his family, we will miss their visits too.
