Dennis M. McCabe

MYSTIC - Dennis M. McCabe, loving husband of 41 years to Rhonda (Blanchet) McCabe, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015.

Born in New London, Conn., he is the son of Mary (Joyce) McCabe, of Pawcatuck, and the late William McCabe, and lived in Mystic for most of his life. Dennis, a 1969 graduate of Stonington High School and 1974 graduate of Central Connecticut State University, went on to become vice president of Human Resources for Computer Sciences Corp (CSC) for many years, recently retiring in 2013. Known by many as a talented and passionate golfer, Dennis had held course records and club championships at courses throughout the area. In addition to his love for golf, Dennis loved spending time vacationing with his family and friends. He always treasured his Block Island vacations with his family.

In addition to his wife, Rhonda, and mother, he is survived by his two sons, Tyler McCabe and his wife, Leonesse, of Medfield, Mass., and Ryan McCabe and his wife, Corie, of Hoboken, N.J.; mother–in-law, Eleanor Blanchet, of Mystic; his two cherished grandchildren, Jackson and Samuel McCabe; three sisters, Patricia Daden and her husband, Gary, of Vergennes, Vt., Kathleen McCabe, of Old Mystic, and Joyce Conlon and her husband, Michael, of Stonington; two brothers, William McCabe and his wife, Sandra, of Mystic, and Brian McCabe, of Pawcatuck; and two brothers-in-law, James Blanchet, of Torrington, and Gary Blanchet and his wife, Rhonda, of Pawcatuck. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Rodolph Blanchet in June of this year.

His family will receive friends Wednesday, Dec. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mystic Funeral Home on Route 1 in Mystic. A service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
