Dear Betty and Family,
How sad to think that Joe is no longer a part of our lives in Westerly. But how beautiful are the memories we all share of this selfless man who was so willing to give his all to the town he truly loved. His was a life well lived. How wonderful that he touched so many lives, and that this legacy lives on in you, Betty, with your own selflessness and in your great family. May peace be with you all.

Cugini Family,
Mr. Cugini was very well known he touched many lives in away that only he could. He was a special man, soft spoken and choose his words well.
Mr. Credit Union I offended call him he and the late Robert Bewlay worked well together and both would greet many of the patrons with a hand shake.
I believe they passed that onto Miss Buckley.
I was honored to have Mr Cugini and his wife as my Master of Ceremony at my retirement party from the Westerly Police Department in 1992.
He spoke so highly of me and my accomplishments as I sat their I was wondering who he was talking about. After he finished my mom stood up and let everyone know that is my son. I then knew he was talking about me.
In my Indian world I will remember him with the Indian name of "Bright Star" he who shines from above. He left a path for many to follow.

To The Entire Cugini Family and WCCU Family,
My parents opened an account for me when I was very young at WCCU, I am now 53 and still expect to see Joe there. He always had a huge smile and a great "Hello". I truly thought the world of this man. He will be greatly missed by so many. From the memory of a child, this man was bigger than life.

When I was ten years old I watched Joe play on that terrific team. Those guys were my first heroes. Later in life during my time in the Air Force Joe gave me advice on moving forward in the service and in life. He was a great guy and a great gift to Westerly.
Some people you never forget, even if you haven't seen them in years. Joe was one of those people. Sincere condolences to the family and all of Joe's many friends. A true loss the town of Westerly.
