Sherry HYMORE Obituary

HYMORE Sherry Sherry Hymore, age 64, passed away peacefully December 13, 2011 surrounded by family at their home in Oregon, Ohio. She was born December 18, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio and was a 1964 graduate of Clay High School. On June 5, 1965 she married her high school sweetheart, Ron Hymore. During their lifetime adventure they raised two children, Scott and Kristina. They started their life in Savannah, Georgia and lived in Puerto Rico, North Carolina and Michigan, but mainly they considered their home to be in Oregon, Ohio where they lived for more than 30 years. Sherry started her professional career as a beautician and then salon manager, but later dedicated herself to the students of Wynn Elementary and the Wynn House where she discovered her passion as a teacher's assistant, mentoring and fostering children with special needs. She retired in 2007 after nearly 25 years of service to the school. In her remaining years, she and her husband Ron divided their time between their homes in Ft. Meyers, Florida and Oregon, Ohio. The oldest sister of four, Sherry shared a lifelong bond with her three siblings who were with her, holding her hand until the end of her life. As a loving grandmother of four, she will be remembered as their one and only Oma. Sherry lived for her grandchildren; she deeply enjoyed watching them grow up and being an important part of their daily lives. She was a dear friend to many, and a life-long teacher, counselor, and mentor. Sherry will always be remembered for her ability to make people laugh with her highly embellished stories, her passion for making and reliving good memories, and her loving way of finding the good in everyone. Sherry was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and JoAnn, "Bobo", Carpenter; her father and mother-in-law, Albert and Bessie Hymore, and her nephew, Joshua Donley. Sherry is survived by her husband, Ronald Hymore; sisters, Robin Nichpor, Nancy (Patrick Donley), and Terrie Brecht; brother, Robert (Deb) Carpenter; son, Scott; daughter, Kristina (Joseph Adent) and grandchildren, Seth Hymore, Isabelle, Abigail, and Rebecca Adent. The family wants to thank the infinite number of friends who gave their support throughout the difficult time, especially Butch Keefer and Kelly Martinez who tirelessly gave of their time and efforts. Family and Friends are welcome to attend a visitation on Friday, December 16 from 2-8 p.m. at Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, OH 43616. A service will be held the following day at Hope Community Church at 5650 on Star Extension from 10-12 p.m. with services following. Donations can be made in Sherry's name to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. www.hoeflingerfuneralhome.com

Uncle Ronnie, Scott, Kristi & all of Aunt Sherry's family,

I was so sorry to hear of Aunt Sherry's passing and I am sorry I was not able to pay my last respects to her at her service but my thoughts and prayers were with you all.
Uncle Ronnie, know that you were very blessed to have a life partnership with Aunt Sherry. Only her and her sense of humor could compliment your oneriness. And you are so right that you had a storybook story, that has always been my thoughts of you two.
Through the days ahead of you, please keep in mind, that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. What could be more wonderful for those we love?
Should you ever need me for anything, anytime day or night, I am but a phone call away. I love you Uncle Ronnie.
Your niece,
Sherrie Lynn

Sherry
My heart aches, my tears fall. I know the battle you fought not only for you but your entire family. You never gave up on me. You made me realize how important family is. I promised you that I won't pull away. You told me that you would be waiting for me when it's time. I asked you to visit me in my dreams if God lets you. I'll be waiting. Thank you for being apart of my life.

Everyone in the family, including me and her dearest friends are going through so much right now. I attended the service and it was so beautiful, I am happy that she is no longer suffering but I wish she didn't have to leave us. It is apart of life but I'm glad it isn't the end. I'm glad it was peaceful. Every time I would go to Aunt Sherry's and Uncle Ron's, Sherry would make me laugh no matter what it was about or what mood you were in, she surely brightened my day. Today was the day I payed my last respects and was the last time I got to see her until God's ready to bring me home as well. I know she is waiting for all of her families and friends to meet her again. I bet she will bring all of the smiles and laughter to us again. I know she is watching over us and keeping us safe. I love you all, it will take time but we will get better with time. God has you in his hand with His Angels surrounding you. You will truly be missed Aunt Sherry, I love you.

Uncle Ronnie and Family,
Kristi asked for something funny to say about Sherry, I remember a New Years Eve party where Aunt Sherry was dancing and dancing around the floor with a bag on her arm filled with kibby. She said that nobody was going to eat it all and everytime she got up to dance the bag went on her arm. We tried to steal it from her and the sisters did too, but it didn't happen, she even took it with her to the bathroom. It became a big joke to all of us that shared the New Year together. She always made us laugh and no matter what time of day when we would stop over she was always trying to feed us. She will be sorely missed by me and the boys. Sorry Zane and I could not be with the family at this time of sorrow. Uncle Ronnie, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love to you all,
Sue Hymore (Union, Kentucky)

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
