Thank you for bringing barbara to us at Arbors and allowing me the opportunity to be able to help take care of her and most of all, get to know her. She made me smile time and time again. She is an amazing woman! I will always remember her. She is going to be greatly missed. Martha and Anne, i wish you both the best. My thoughts are with you.

Barbara's sense of humor was delightful but seemed best when she poked fun at herself. Who can ever forget her marvelous recitation of overcoming U.S. Navy rules?
Barbara had not heard from her sailor son on board a
destroyer and was worried. When she finally heard his voice on the phone she was relieved, but when he asked her
"How did you get through on the hot line?", she burst into spasms of laughter.

The saying goes "The Highest Form of Wisdom is Kindness...and Barbara was very wise. She never failed to encourage, inspire, or speak her truth. Did the lady know how to enter a room or what! She amazed me and scared me all at the same time. I told her that once and she threw her head back and howled!I'll never forget your spirit, or the kindness you showed me. She called me when she got this picture of us and said the only thing missing was a caption that read: BEWARE! God, she was funny. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Martha, and the rest of the Applegate family; Please except my condolences in your utmost time of sorrow.
To be sure, your mother lived a very full life, and touched everyone that she met. I will always remember her warmth, and engaging smile. She is now in a better place, and eventhough she is now gone - she is not forgotten by all who met her.

I was so very fortunate to meet Barbara because of my husband's long friendship with her. She was witty, warm, gracious, and as sharp as arrow. And she threw the BEST parties at her wonderful house on Second Street.

My memories of Barbara her came rushing back when I heard from Martha this morning - all of them so positive. I first met her when she was "dating" my brother. We seemed to have an immediate connection which continued long after their relationship ended. We always tried to get together when I got back to Ohio to visit. She and Roger and I had a wonderful trip around New Mexico on one of their visits to you followed by their visiting me here in Arizona. We just seemed to laugh the entire time we were together over some very silly things. I will cherish our friendship and the joy of having had the opportunity to share a bit of my life with such a fun and classy lady. My love to all of you.

I had the pleasure of working with Barb for many years st St. Vincents. She was quite a lady in every way. I doubt if the fledgeling "Life Flight" program would have been so widely accepted if not for her efforts. Barb was a "pro" at what she did and had alot of fun doing it. Thanks for the memories.

I met Barbara in the early '70's and worked indirectly with her for several years--my boss was Conrad Bogusz and was hers. She was always professional, somewhat humorous, and had a quiet presence about her. It is hard to believe that she is no longer with us--Peace of God be with you Barb.
