Richard Gasiorowski Obituary

GASIOROWSKI
Richard
Richard Gasiorowski, age 74, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Born in Toledo, OH, on December 16, 1942. Richard was the son of Dominic and Salome Gasiorowski. He was a graduate of St. Anthony's Grade School and a 1961 graduate of Libbey High School in Toledo, OH.
Rich was an active parishioner of Little Flower Catholic Church for over 52 years. He was past-president of Little Flower Mens' Club, chaired the Texas Hold'Em Tournaments held at the church-hall, worked every Tuesday evening at the Little Flower Bingo Concession-area, chaired all the L.F. Men's Club Lenten Fish-Frys, worked at all the church Festivals, assisted at all the annual church Rummage Sales, Ushered every weekend at the 4:30 p.m. Mass or whenever needed, was an avid supporter of Little Flower Boy Scout Troop #222, and an active Little Flower Men's Club Board Member. When not volunteering at the church, he also enjoyed an occasional round of golf, fishing on Lake Erie with his fishing-buddies and playing poker once each month with his regular poker-friends. He was a “Mr. Fix-It Man” and his daughters always said that dad could fix anything broken or he would just make a part for it instead. He enjoyed wood-making crafts and really enjoyed making tables for his daughter and son-in-law's Mayberry Diner Restaurants. He could fix everything there from broken toasters to broken chair legs. He learned how to make the best banana-cream and coconut-cream pies and enjoyed making them for the diners.
He enjoyed playing the Lottery and was pretty lucky winning and won an all-expense paid trip for a week to Hollywood, California for his family. He was an exceptional and caring and loving father and was so very proud of his independent and successful daughters and special son-in-law. He will be greatly missed. He dearly loved his special granddaughters, Rachel and Samantha and enjoyed attending their Volleyball Games often.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Diane, of whom he shared almost 54 years of married life.
They shared a special bond and genuine love for each other. He is survived by his two daughters, Wendy Gasiorowski and Tammy Super; and a special son-in-law, Scott Super, who was a tremendous help to him during his illness; and step-grandchildren, Samantha and Rachel Super. He is survived by two sisters, Joan Nowacki and Carol Lechlak; brother-in-law, Donald Raszka; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Gasiorowski. Preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Dolores Forgette, Barbara Wolff, Geri Raszka; and brother, James Gasiorowski.
Family and friends may visit at Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2126 N. Reynolds Road, (419-531-4424) on Thursday, March 16, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. with Scripture Services at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 17, at Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr Street, at 10:00 a.m., preceded by visitation from 9-10 a.m. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Hospice Staff, especially Audi and Rob who provided loving care to Richard. Memorial contributions may be made to Little Flower Catholic Church.

Aunt Diane, Wendy, & Tammy,

Uncle Rich was the quintessential 'good man'. I have so many fond memories of him at both Mom's house and Aunt Di's. I remember hanging out with him in the front room ish area of your house while he was smoking a pipe. Playing in the long back yard, working in the huge garden ........ Stephanie has only visited with uncle Rich a few times but he made an indelible impression. When uncle Rich is the subject or his name comes up in conversations, it never ends with out Stephanie interjecting at some point saying 'I love that man'. He will be, TRULY MISSED.

Love and prayers,

Tom & Stephanie Lechlak
