Aurelia M. Ashfeld, age 90, of Litchfield died Friday, September 1, 2006, at the Emmanuel Home in Litchfield.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with Father Paul Schumacher celebrating.  Visitation will be held from  5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, September 4th with a parish prayer service at 7:00 PM at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and will also be held one hour prior to the service at church.  Interment will be in the St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Watkins.
Aurelia Marie Ashfeld, the daughter of Anton and Theresa Bauer Nohner, was born on February 16, 1916 in Eden Valley, MN.  She grew up near Eden Valley and attended school at Dist. 41 country school.  On June 20, 1939, she was united in marriage to Joe Ashfeld in Eden Valley.  They farmed for forty years on the south side of Willow Lake, near Kimball.  Joe died on July 7, 1977 and Aurelia moved to Litchfield in 1978.  She was an active member of the Church of St. Philip in Litchfield belonging to the CCW and Catholic Aid Association.  Aurelia was one of the founding members of the St. Philip's Mission Quilters. She enjoyed needlework, gardening, quilting and especially spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her children; Delores and Harold Eder of St. Paul, Evelyn and Ed Dougherty of Darwin, Marilyn and Duane Finger of Kimball and Lou and Cathy Ashfeld of Plymouth, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.   She is also survived by her brothers; Raymond and Lorraine Nohner of Richfield, Leander and Wally Nohner of Eden Valley, sisters; Marcella Lee of Litchfield and Leona Arnold of Pine City.   She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Joe.
