Carla Tejuco Obituary

Published by Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Aug. 8, 2021.
She would get there early in the morning before the crowds and the heat. She and Alloy would bring extra chairs and stake out the best table in the small parking lot next to Wells Fargo. As the day would wear on, the blistering Labor Day Weekend sun would beat down on the swarms of people lining up for crab fries and giant golden corn on sticks. The Millbrae Art and Wine Festival was THE event of the year. And nothing would stop her from all the fun. Let me rephrase that, nothing would stop her from BEING ALL THE FUN. The bands on stage would play and sing their heart out, and she would be right there in front of them singing along and dancing HER heart out. Her passion for music was infectious, and if you were there with her, it gave you the courage and inhibition to get up and dance alongside her. Carla undoubtedly led a full and blessed life, but she faced trials in this life as well. And with every battle that came her way, she sure as hell fought back with unwavering strength and voracity. About ten years ago, she suffered a brain aneurysm and stroke that required extensive brain surgery. For weeks, she fought, silently struggling to recover. One day, I was with her in her hospital room, it was just me, her, and the caregiver. Mom had finally woken up and started gaining a little strength. The caregiver walked her to the restroom, I was amazed. She had not been on her feet in a really long time. Mom looked at herself in the mirror and ever so slowly, she proceeded to brush her teeth. Now, I know it doesn't seem significant, everyone can brush their teeth, but at that very moment, I broke down, I bawled my eyes out. Why? Because she was brushing her teeth? Yes! Because that seemingly simple and trivial act meant she was finally back. It meant that she had charged through that Warfield and willed herself back to us. That's the fighter I know and love and forever will miss. -Rachelle Ticzon Carla Arnedo Tejuco passed away at her home in Burlingame, CA on August 8, 2021, at the youthful age of 56. She was born on September 19, 1964, in the Philippines to her Father, Carlos Calloway Tejuco, and Mother, Minerva Arnedo Tejuco. She was the second to the youngest child in a family of 9. She moved to the US as a toddler and graduated from South San Francisco High School. In 1982 she welcomed her son Joseph Ticzon into the world. She would give the world to her son, which remained until the very end. Carla is preceded in death by her father Carlos Tejuco and her brother Leo Tejuco. She is survived by her lifelong partner, Alloy Brownlow, and by her Mother, Minerva Arnedo Tejuco. She is also survived by her only son, Joseph Ticzon, her daughter-in-law, Rachelle Ticzon, and grandchildren Jordan, Jaiea, and Jonah Ticzon. She is also survived by her sisters Belinda, Marie, Marivic, Minnie, Connie, and their spouses. As well as her Nieces: Janae, Elena, Sara, Helen, Isabella, Olivia, Elise, Cristina, and Nephews: Chucky, Adam, Nathan, Justin, and Alec. Finally her Great Nephew and Nieces: Keoni, Nalani, Luna, Emma and Aurora. On behalf of the Tejuco, Ticzon, and Brownlow families, I would like to thank everyone for their warm thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Your support has truly been a blessing. I remember her bubbly personality, always smiling, greetings others, and just being a wonderful person with a beautiful spirit. She was a light growing up with in elementary, middle, and high school. Her laughter was infectious. You messed with Connie you messed with everybody! I remember how tight she and Roz were. I would always see them together hanging out behind Foxridge... ;-) Going way back. Loving Soul.

Carla will be missed. The younger sister of my dear friend. We all grew up together from Westborough to South City High. My brother Abel snd sister Monette we're also friends with Carla. Monette remembers every Sunday going to church and then leaving with Carla and her sisters to hang out. The Millbrae Art and Wine Festival will always remind me of Carla. It was a great place to reconnect with her and her sisters. Carla snd Alloy would always have a table with lots of chairs for anyone who stopped by. We always danced and they always had wine in their cooler to share. I will make it a point to go to the Festival to celebrate her. My family sends our condolences, prayers and love. Rest In Peace Carla.

Sending sincere love, heartfelt condolences, and prayers from the Beliso Family. Carla was a beautiful soul and dear friend to us. Her sense of humor and laughter always filled the room and brought smiles to our faces. Whenever I saw her, she spoke of her family with so much love and adoration as they meant the world to her, and truly were her pride and joy. And, she often expressed how much she loved the childhood friendship she and my brother shared. Carla, I'll always cherish our memories, like when you would call me to pick up the cases of wine you and Alloy ordered, then opened one or two bottles the moment I dropped them off, or the time you two wanted to drive through In and Out in my convertible as we blasted old school music in the background ... you laughed the entire time. Thank you for your love, laughter, and friendship. Rest In Paradise, my dear. Aloha nui loa ~ Sharisse and Family.

I was so sorry to hear of Carla’s passing. I was a classmate from Foxridge, Westborough and South City. The one thing that sticks out in my mind about Carla was her infectious laugh! I can so clearly recall it. I ran into her many years ago on Burlingame Avenue and she spoke so fondly of her son. My condolences to her family and friends.

My sincere condolences to the Tejuco and Brownlow families. I use to work with Carla and Alloy at Nedlloyd! Those were the days. Carla's laughter and smile would fill the room. I have not seen Carla or Alloy for many years but thought about both of them often. Carla was a pleasure to be around. She had a way of making you feel very warm, welcomed and because she was so funny you would leave with a swollen jaw from laughing so hard. To Alloy - I know this - when I was around both of you, I felt the love radiating and the joy of happiness around both of you. It was a great thing to see. Time will heal your heart but memories will last forever.
