Joanne Klomparens

Joanne Klomparens, age 79, of Holland, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at Holland Hospital. Joanne graduated from Holland High School and Northwestern College of Nursing. She retired as the Assistant Supervisor of Surgical Nursing at Holland Hospital in the early 1970's when she and her family started Woodenshoe Greenhouses, Inc. in Graafschap. Joanne loved the outdoors, camping and cooking, especially with family. In her spare time, she enjoyed making care bags out of retired flags for the troops overseas. Joanne was a member of Graafschap Christian Reformed Church. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Edna Tenpas; brother, William Tenpas; parents-in-law, Gordon and Althea Klomparens; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Van Huis. Joanne is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jerry Klomparens; son, Mark (Bridgit) Klomparens of Holland; daughter, Kathy (Aaron) Schley of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Joshua Klomparens, Breanna Klomparens; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation is scheduled for 12:30pm-1:30pm with the funeral following at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May11 at Graafschap Christian Reformed Church, 5973 Church St., Holland. Rev. Philip Kok will officiate. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland.
