Today I was searching the internet and the ccp faculty staff to see if I could find an email to get in touch with Joe. Unfortunately, I was saddened to learn of his passing. I am a former student of Joe and wanted to tell him of my years since ccp. After the spring semester of 2018, I went to Delaware Valley University in Doylestown. I graduated in the spring of 2021 majoring in conservation and wildlife management along with a minor in criminal justice. I will be starting my new job and career with the USDA in a couple weeks that I am looking forward to. At ccp, Joe was my favorite teacher. I took him for two history classes. He was a great storyteller and kept class fun and interesting. After class from time to time, we would talk about fishing and sharing our own stories. It´s so late since his passing but I hope a family member or friend hears this story that I´d like to share. I took history 101 and 102 with Joe. In 101, I did very well and enjoyed his class and jumped at the opportunity to have him as an instructor again. While in 102, I was once again doing well but had a slight issue. At the end of the semester, me and a buddy of mine planned a spring trout fishing trip in the mountains of PA. Issue for me was that my final for his class was on a Friday that I had planned to be away on. After one of our last lectures, I went up to Joe after class asking if I could take my final in advance so that I wouldn´t have to cut my trip short. Joe looked at me and said "You´re doing pretty well in this class aren´t you" to which I replied yes. Then he said "you did very well in a previous class with me, correct". Again I said yes. Then I got some of the best news. Joe looked at me and said "well, I guess you´re going to get an A anyways in this class. How about you skip the final, go on your fishing trip, and you´ll get your A". I was so appreciative for that. I wish I had more professors like Joe.

Joe what great political talks we could have had this year. Your bombastic passion mixed with street sense common sense would have been so enjoyable. Peace be with you my friend. George

A year later, and I still can't believe he's gone. I worked with him for ten years in his dept. at Central High. We had some great conversations and common interests.

Joe we met at La Salle. We both were humble kids from poorer neighborhoods. We both loved history and politics. You allowed me to be your best man when you married Chris. She was a rare beautiful person and you both made the perfect couple. Thanks Joe for enriching my life. I hope to see you in Heaven some day. George
