ANDRUSZKIEWICZ, Mary T. (Ciccio). Age 90, of Dorchester, MA died Sunday, November 8, 2020 at a hospice home in Braintree, MA. Mary was born May 25, 1930 in Boston, MA, daughter of the late Lillian and Joseph Ciccio and was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Joseph Andruszkiewicz; her sisters Vincenzina Ciccio, Frances (Fanny) Woods, Josephine Montgomery, and her brother Guy Ciccio. Surviving Mary are her daughters Mary Andruszkiewicz (Maria Smachetti) of Hopkinton, MA, and Lillian Andruszkiewicz; her sons John Andruszkiewicz (Elizabeth Whitesell) of Tucson, AZ, Robert Andruszkiewicz (Jyl Kelley) of Eau Claire, WI, Stan Andruszkiewicz of St. Petersburg, FL, and Paul Andruszkiewicz (Cynthia) of Quincy, MA.; and her sister Lillian Ambrosino of Lynn. Mary also leaves behind seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. While working as a paraprofessional in the Boston public schools with special education students, Mary obtained her college degree from Lesley College. Later in life she enjoyed her Monday nights at bingo and her too few trips to Foxwoods with family and friends. At 87 she contributed her childhood story to "Streets of Echoes", a compilation of memories of Boston's most enduring neighborhoods; also, through Grub Street publishers, her memoir is available at Boston Public Libraries. The daughter of immigrants Mary especially enjoyed preparing her mother's Sicilian, and her mother-in-law's Polish dishes for her grateful family and friends. From swordfish with oregano, to homemade kielbasa and golabki, she took great pride in mastering any cooking challenge. Mary was extraordinary, she had a twinkle in her eye, she was fun, feisty, full of life, and will be remembered for frequently instigating fits of laughter. She was always protective, loving, and caring. She was the best mom "ev-ah". Private service and interment is at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. A celebration of Mary's life will take place post pandemic. To Mary, Lil, Jackie, Bobby, Stan, and Paul:
Sorry for the loss of your Mom. Mrs. A. was always looking out for the neighborhood kids even the kids younger than her own. She watched as you taught us how to play touch football, baseball, or street hockey in the street. Today, I laugh as my own children cannot grasp the idea of playing sports in the street. May she rest in peace. Best Regards, Jimmy Murphy

I know many children have said they had the best mother ever, but when I heard cousins, friends, and others wish they had a mom like mine it made me believe you were truly special. Your dedication, devotion and unconditional love for your children was your paramount concern. You were my creator, my provider, protector and champion. Anything good about me is because of your influence. It was you who taught me to love and enjoy life despite hardships. Your laughter and ability to make the best out of the worst situations propelled me through my own. Your cooking alone could provide a world of comfort. Knowing I lost your earthly presence is very sad to cope with, but it gives me great relief to know you are finally resting at peace. And while you may be gone from here, your memory and legacy live on in six children who all know that our mom was truly the best. I will forever love you, mom.

Happiness is everything.

Mama, I will miss you everyday. Everyone who knew you will miss you. You lit up a room (and life) with your laughter and frivolity. You always wanted what was best for your kids and can leave this world knowing we are good, because of you. Rest in peace m
