Mitchell Kalpakgian Obituary

Mitchell was born on January 24, 1941 and passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018. Mitchell was a resident of Warner, New Hampshire at the time of passing. He earned a B.A. from Bowdoin College, an M.A. from the University of Kansas where he was part of the Integrated Humanities Program, and a Ph.D in English Literature from the University of Iowa. Traditional Armenian funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1st at Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church, 200 Lexington St., Belmont, MA at 9:00 am. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary of the church prior to the service from 8-9 am. Interment will be at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton. In addition, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross on Sunday, September 2nd at 10:30 am. Memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church.

My condolences to Dr. Kalpakgian's family and friends. I met Dr. Kalpakgian when I was a student at Simpson College in the late 1960s. I was friends with his sister, Nancy. He was a valued professor at Simpson. My sympathy for your loss. Mitch was a wonderful human being.

I was greatly saddened to hear of your father's, Dr. Kalpakgian death. He was my favorite teacher at Queen of Heaven Academy. I am honored to have been taught by him.
