Paul Genoese Zerbi

Paul G. Zerbi, 83 of Marco Island, FL, formerly of Warren, OH, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016.  Born in Taurianova, Italy, son of Domenico and Rosa Genoese Zerbi, he was a loving father, grandfather, husband, brother, caring friend and a gifted, dedicated thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon. He will be greatly missed. In 1993, he retired from a successful private practice in Warren, and moved to Marco Island. He then served as a surgeon in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel.  He excelled at many diverse hobbies including photography, woodworking, cooking and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting.  Paul is survived by his wife of more than 52 years, Mary Martha "Marty" (Berring) Zerbi; three children, Paula (David) Reape of Shaker Heights, OH, Jane of Sacramento, CA and Dominic (Heather) of Dublin, OH; six grandchildren, Marisa, Zachary and Joshua Reape of Shaker Heights, OH, Rosa Zerbi of Sacramento, CA and Katie and Emma Zerbi of Dublin, OH; sisters, Loredana (Piero) Carossino, and Serenella (Claudio) Aquari, brother Antonio of Italy; and numerous nieces and nephews. His beloved mother-in-law, Rita Berring who resided with Paul and Marty for 10 years preceded him in death by 2 weeks.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carmelo, Felice and Maurizio; and sisters Mirella and Leila. Prayer services for Dr. Zerbi will be held on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016 , at 11:00am, Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, Naples. The family will receive visitors the hour prior. A Funeral mass will be celebrated in Warren, OH on Dec. 17th at 11:00am at the Blessed Sacrament church..
