Susan Ptasinski

Susan "Susy" Joy Ptasinski's love of life was apparent to all who knew her. She passed away on July 10, 2021 after a courageous and long-fought battle with cancer, surrounded by her husband and children, who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Susy was born July 3, 1950, in Chicago to Chester and Dorothy Lester. After her graduation from Carl Schurz High School in 1968, she married, began raising her family, and then attended William Rainey Harper College, where she graduated with a nursing degree in 1982. Susy touched many lives during her nursing career with her caring and compassionate demeanor. In addition to her nursing career and raising her family, Susy enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, baking, planning family celebrations, and spending time with her family and friends. Susy is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Ptasinski, of Wonder Lake. She is also survived by her former spouse, Kenneth (Cindy) Starzyk and their children, Traci Meziere and Ryan (Katie) Starzyk, as well as her stepchildren Phil, Julie, Greg (Heather), and Krystina Ptasinski. She adored her grandchildren Wesley and Allyson Meziere, Jake and Ava Starzyk, and AJ and Fiona Ptasinski. She will be fondly remembered by her siblings Judith (Edward) Murrin, Kenneth (Barbara) Lester, Candice (Michael) Ferina, and Debra Hansen, as well as her many nieces and nephews. Susy was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Dorothy, and her brother Thomas. All are invited to gather in honor of Susy at Arlington Lakes Golf Club, 1211 S. New Wilke Rd. in Arlington Heights on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 for visitation from 4 PM - 8 PM, including a Celebration of Life tribute at 7 PM.
