I'll like to send my condolences to the entire Harrell family. I had the honor to meet MG Harrell many years ago, at the Headquarters U.S. Army Corps of Engineers located in DC. He was the first African American General I had ever met in person, at that time and this was in the 1990's. He smiled when I said that to him. I just heard of his passing today. I always kept that memory in my heart and mind. I've since met a few others, but that was really special to me. I will continue to keep the entire family in my Prayers.

It is with deepest sympathy that I read of the passing of Earnest. I served with Earnest in the 94th Engineer Batallion in Nellington, West Germany in the early 60's. He was a pleasure to be around and he will be sorely missed. My sympathy to you, Paola, and your children.
