I so appreciate having known Ann. I like to imagine she and my mom are having coffee about now and swapping stories and laughs in the way they did when we were made part of the group at the farm when my mom visited the Twin Cities. Ann was a remarkable person who balanced intelligence, spirit and kindness.
My thoughts and best wishes are with Ann's family now and in the days that follow.

A Grand lady with wit and humor who brightened many lives and loved kids, cats, and coffee. I am so lucky to have known her and her family while on my life's journey.

To all Uncle Ed, Kids and Grandkids and her brother Tom (Uncle Tom)
Aunt Ann was a very remarkable lady and knew what she wanted out of life and went for it. When I would received my Christmas card from her and Uncle Ed, she always added a statement about the family history and I very much appreciated those remembers. We the Votel clan, have learned so much from our Fathers and Mothers, to be who we will be in life, be very outgoing, strong minded and keep on learning no matter what age you are (It's never late to learn something new). I for one is very proud of them all for teaching us what a Votel is, where we came from and our legacies and that we should keep teaching the next generation all that we learned
Aunt Ann may you enjoy spending time with your Father and Mother and all your other brothers (Uncle Hank, Uncle Bill, Ben (Pa), Uncle Pete, and Uncle Jack)

I always admired Aunt Ann.
She was a trail-blazer...encouraged all of us to do whatever we wanted to do. Do it. Why not? Pursue a degree in your 70's! Yes! I learned more about her when I read her obituary - I too loved Alberta Hunter..who knew?
May she rest in peace. She is enjoying library books with my Mom - Audrey. Although my Mom would have been anxious about getting them back by the due date ;)
Love to all,
Bridget

Gael and family-
We were very sad to hear of Ann's (Mrs. Fashingbauer's) passing. She was always so welcoming to all who ventured out to the farm. I know she will be missed by all who were lucky to know her.

Dave, Gael and family,
So sorry to hear about your Mom. I have very fond memories of her going way back to when she was teaching our 3rd grade(?) religion class first communion prep at St. Odilia. A grand and classy lady! As us Irish say, we'll "see her on down the road". SO SORRY I'm out of town and can't join you at funeral, but will pray for you all.
God Bless!
