Our time on earth is but a moment in time compared to eternity. Even though our earthly body does expired at the time God has appointed, the human soul never expires. Therefore, Laurel did not die, she passed onto a different realm. And by the amazing grace of God, Jesus the Christ, she passed onto heaven. Nick, and others, take all the time you need to grieve, and when you see the sun shine again, you'll thank God for all the great moments you spent with Laurel, and be able to let her go into the afterlife.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Laurel in Madison many years ago and she was a dear friend. We lost touch and on a whim today, I just thought I would see if I could find her...too late. I am so sorry. I am sure she was as an amazing wife and mother as she was sister and friend. Susie and all the family...I offer you a virtual hug. She was a beautiful person inside and out.

Laurel was a dear friend to me when the two of lived in Madison, WI and worked at Great Lakes.
I just on a whim googled her today, to see if I could find her and came across this. I had completely lost touch with her and just wondered about her and I am so very sorry for her life being cut short. She is as beautiful in the pictures as she was in 1986. Please extend my condolences to all of her family. Her sister Sue, was also a dear friend and you are all in my prayers.

Laurel left us too soon. The world could never have enough of the energy, hopefulness, can-do spirit, laughter, honesty, and frankness-tempered-with-kindness that she brought to the party. What a good woman and a lovely spirit she was. Is. I am grateful to have known her. Jeanne

To Laurel's Family,
Laurel helped me help others in the Basilica Employment Ministry when she was at St. Thomas. She was the first Job Coach in the Ministry Program. She also helped me recruit some wonderful Job Coaches from St. Thomas of which I will forever be grateful. I feel blessed to be a
friend of Laurel's during this time. Laurel, my prayers are with you and your family.
God Bless All of You,
Your friend,
Tom Green

Laurel - You showed up in my life when I really needed someone to "tell it to me straight." I knew you cared about me deeply AND you wouldn't let me delude myself about certain parts of my life...you were my conscience that refused to be silenced. My life was better for all of that care and truth.

Those front porch conversations and laughter, times spent painting and sewing cushions, the listening, the caring...they were all so important to me. And I will always love you for them.

You introduced me to your siblings when I needed some close by. I think about their pain right now and how much they will all miss you.

You taught me about dating and love as I watched your relationship with Nic grow and mature. Do I somehow try to tell him that he will get through this AND that he will get through this more easily if he finds the right person to share with - as you were with me?

You have left your handprint on my heart my friend.

Let the angels hold you up now; enjoy the freedom of health. We will miss you here and I look forward to seeing you again when we will laugh and paint and talk and care about each other once again...

Be Well My Dear Friend!
