John BOBICK Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province from Mar. 23 to Mar. 24, 2013.
BOBICK, John Henry
Born in Manitoba on March 29, 1921, John passed away in his 92nd year due to heart failure on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody, B.C. Survived by his sister Victoria (Lund) and his five children, daughters Fran (Pocock), Susan (Balcom), Maryvonne (Micale), and sons Michael and James. He also leaves behind grandchildren Jennifer, Lucas, Trevor and Amanda and greatgrandchildren Maya and Max. A veteran of the Second World War, John was proud to be Canadian and equally proud of his Ukrainian heritage. He studied law, taught himself numerous languages, became an expert marksman and champion seniors table tennis player. His last years were blessed by the friendship of his nurse Carole, to whom the family is very grateful. To all who knew John and enjoyed his wry sense of humor and sometimes quirky view of life, the family would ask that you raise a glass and celebrate the spirit of a strong, brave and unique individual. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Dear John. You were truly a wonderful man and I thought of you like my second grampa. I will always always remember you and I tell your life story to every one I know. My oldest son Carson remembers taking you to table tennis with me. Rock on John! Xoxoxo
