Wesley G. Plinke, MD died of natural causes on May 13 in Simi Valley. He was 95.
Dr. Plinke was born to William and Minnie Plinke on July 13, 1913 in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 1945. He practiced medicine for over 50 years. He and his partner Dr. John Jones were long-time area physicians and instrumental in developing Simi Valley Hospital.
Dr. Plinke was preceded in death by his wives, Virginia Lovett Thompson and Ruth Lillian Yakush, as well as three siblings, Kenneth Plinke, Marlys Plinke Owen and Lowell Plinke. He was an officer in the United States Air Force and served at Edwards A.F.B. in California. He was discharged in 1956.
He practiced family medicine and general surgery in Mississippi, Texas and California, finally settling in Simi Valley, where he practiced from 1967 until he retired in 1996. He was a member of the Simi Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He was a beloved father and is survived by three sons, Robert, Gordon, and Kenneth, and ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren , a niece, Carol Jean Owens, three stepchildren, Dan, Janet and Elizabeth, and three step-grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating the life of Dr. Plinke will be held at Simi Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church. Visitation on Monday the 18th: 10:00 to 12:00, followed by the celebration service/ Fellowship at the church and interment at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Memorial Park. Arrangements managed by Reardon Simi Valley Funeral Home.

Wes was our Doctor for many years and we also had the good fortune to call him our friend. We spent many happy hours with he and his wife Ruth. He will be dearly missed by both of us
