HAROLD SINGERMAN Obituary

Harold Singerman  (Age 92)
Died on August 16, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents, Louis Singerman and Sarah (née Ainbinder) Singerman, his wife, Roslyn (née Kurnow) Singerman, and his daughter, Janice Devorah. He is survived by his sons, Joel Singerman (Robbin) and Michael Singerman, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Singerman was born in Peabody, MA. After graduating from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1951, he began working at the U.S. Naval Engineering Experimental Station (the facility later changed its name to David Taylor Naval Research Development Center) in Annapolis, Maryland. While working at the facility, he met his future wife; they had been married for 64 years when she died in 2019. He received a Master of Science in Technology of Management in 1973 from American University. During his 43-year career at the facility, he rose from an entry-level engineer to the Head of the Pollution Abatement Division. Over the years, he was recognized for his outstanding technical competence and expertise in the field of pollution abatement by awards, including the Commander's Award for Special Achievement, Federal Engineer of the Year, George W. Melville Award, Commendation of Performance, and Sustained Superior Performance Award. When Mr. Singerman retired, the Commander of the facility noted that he had an "extraordinary and productive career."  He was a member of Congregation Kneseth Israel and B'nai B'rith. In past years, he was the circulation manager of the congregation's newsletter, a scout leader, and a volunteer tutor at the Annapolis high school. He enjoyed watching sports, reading, walking with his wife, and visiting with his friends and family. Services previously held.
