NANCY HALL Obituary


NANCY SCHAFER HALL, PhD  
Nancy Schafer Hall, PhD, 79, of Harrington, DE, and formerly Annapolis, MD, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 after a brief, but valiant fight with ovarian cancer. She was born to John and Louise Schafer of Dover, DE on March 28, 1942. She earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Delaware and subsequently taught math there at all levels for more than 50 years. A lifelong scholar, Nancy earned another Master's degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2002. She is survived by her brother John D Schafer III of Key West, FL; dear friend Pat Lewis of Denton, MD; one daughter, two sons, and four grandchildren: Rebecca Hall of Arlington, MA; Eric Hall and wife Carrie and their children Ben and Abby of Hamilton, VA; Ken Hall and wife Moriah and their children Kayla and Jeremy of Cockeysville, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay S Hall. The family has chosen to have a small gathering at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to the Junior Appalachian Musicians in Nancy's name.
