STEPHEN ACTON Obituary
Stephen James Acton
Passed away on July 30, 2018 in Washington, DC. Stephen was a beloved member of the District of Columbia Fire & EMS Department and a caring husband, son, brother, and uncle. He was a gentle soul who loved to serve others, and his untimely death is an irreplaceable loss to his family and friends. His loved ones will always remember his kindness, humility, curiosity for life, and beautiful smile. Stephen was born on April 22, 1984. He is survived by wife, Laura Leigh Acton (Newman), his parents, Helen Blumen and Jan Paul Acton, brother, Mark Acton, and many other family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 4 at 10 a.m. at the River Road Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Bethesda, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation https://www.dcffburnfoundation.org/make-a-donation

Steve was my instructor in the DCFD academy. Nearly 6 years later, I wish I had the chance to know him better. I hope that your family is doing their best and that you rest in peace. See you on the other side, brother.
