I went to school with Mike and he was one of the nicest guys there. Loved seeing him at Class reunions and it's great to see how much good he did throughout his life. He will be greatly missed I'm sure by his family and close friends. My prayers are with the family. Beth McCormick da Silva

Mike was one of my closest friends in high school and he was a really great guy! Even though we lost close touch over the years, it was always great to see him at our high school reunions and be able to catch up. Many fond memories of Mike and he is going to be very sadly missed. My most sincere condolences to his wife, Whitney and his family.

Mike and Maggie lived on our block in Norwich, NY. Mike and I were in the same grade through high school, so I have many fond memories.

I was sddened to hear the news. I grew up with mike and remember the young years of kick the can and smoking straws in his garage. He worked for my dad as an announcer at the radio station in high school. We recently emailed each other about that experience. I knew he did "good" in the world and was not surprised to read all he accomplished. My thoughts are with his family and I know he'll be terribly missed. Anne Hall Rhu

I have known Mike since our teen years in the 1950's in Norwich, NY. From a great family, he had many friends in those days. Named "best all around" in our graduating class, he was always the same throughout his life and 50 years later at our reunion. Indeed, he was a special person. Our deepest sympathy to Whitney and the family.

My most sincere sympathy at the loss of a truly gentle man. I have known Mike since his Craver Matthews days in the late 1980s, when I was on the Board of Amnesty International and was always delighted to see and share a smile with him.

I remember Mike from the US Army;OCS, Ft, Benning and MI school at Ft. Holabird, MD...we lost contact after that but I know we were in VN at the same time. I had tried to find and contact him a while ago with no luck. I did not know he was in NYC and at the same parish, St,. Ignatius ... my sincere condolences..he was a fine, fine person--one of the best.
