Jocelyn was born in Istanbul, Turkey to Bernard Anthony Tubini and Jennie (Richardson) Tubini on September 18, 1921. Jocelyn's favorite memories of her childhood were of spending summers with her family on a small boat exploring the Black Sea. Jocelyn was attending the American College for Girls in Istanbul when she met James Pond, her husband to be, who was a teacher at Robert College. They were married on April 19, 1941 in a double ceremony with her sister Rosemary and her husband William Parquette. They all spent their "honeymoons" on a long train trip from Istanbul to Vladivostock and then to Japan where Jocelyn and Jim caught the last ship leaving Japan before war broke out between the USA and Japan. Jocelyn and Jim settled in Massachusetts and raised five children first in Dover and then in Easthampton. In 1963 they moved with four of their children to Brussels, Belgium where Jocelyn enjoyed a socially and intellectually stimulating life in a diverse European community. Jocelyn was proficient in five languages and relished any opportunity to practice them. In 1971 Jocelyn and Jim returned to Massachusetts and settled in Brewster where she worked at the Brewster Store until her retirement in 1986. Many patrons of the store remember her for her strong coffee and her cigarette holder. Jocelyn loved gardening and was well known for her flower gardens at her home on Crosby Lane.
