Our family wishes to send our sincere condolences to the family of Hal. He was always a gracious and good-humored gentleman during the nine years I worked at WSBA. He was also a consummate broadcaster and entertainer. Some of us have heard brief recordings of Hal's excellent work in the classic Top 40 era at KBOX in Dallas, and at Storz station WDGY in Minneapolis. Special wishes to his son Kevin, with whom I worked in Pennsylvania and Maryland two decades ago.

Hal was a pleasure to work with
and I count myself fortunate
to have had hal on staff for
several years when at WOYK.
Broadcasters like Hal are few
and far between today..He was
one of the finest our area has
known. I count my self fortunate
to have worked with him.
Deepest sympathies to family
and friends.

My sincerest condolences to all of Hal's family.

Hal gave me the cahnce to be Heraldo Remundo for 15 years on both WSBA and WOYK. It was a pleasure to work with him. Hal had a style and grace that is rare in radio today. Hal kept his humor gentle and often self deprecating, never mean spirited. Hal also gave me a chance to be my character in his cast of many characters. Often times we do everything improv. Hal, as the master of comedy, would fill in the gaps. WIth Hal gone another part of a great radio era passes away.

My condolences to Hal's family and loved ones. As a former on-air colleague of Hal's at WSBA Radio, I benefitted from his guidance, his graciousness, and his gentle good humor. He was a pleasure to work with, and I'll carry fond memories of Hal into the future.
