York - Stella J. McIntire, age 71, of York, died peacefully at home on Monday, April 26, 2021. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 27, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Cecelia (Tarlecki) Mains. Stella was the loving wife of the late John E. McIntire, who preceded her in death in 2003.

Stella was a manager for CVS, serving at the Dover store and the Richland Avenue store in York. She retired from CVS after many years of service. Stella was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her pet cats, and bird watching, especially watching the PGC eagle cam. She was also an avid STAR WARS fan. Above all, Stella was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Stella is survived by her children John E. McIntire, II and his wife Kelly of York, Laura Skaggs of Windsor, CO, Katherine McIntire of Downingtown, and Patrick McIntire of Dover, her grandchildren Christopher McIntire, fiancé of Keri Primas, Mark McIntire, and Leah McIntire, and her great-grandson Noah Primas. She is also survived by her siblings Cecelia Ely, Mary Menapace, Jim Mains, Kevin Mains, Karen Mains, and Elaine Rivera. Stella was preceded in death by her brother Jerry Mains and her son-in-law David Skaggs.

A graveside service to celebrate Stella's life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in Holy Saviour Cemetery, 3420 Susquehanna Trail North, York. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Stella's memory may be to the SPCA of York County, 3159 Susquehanna Trail North, York, PA 17406 (www.ycspca.org).
