Richard Alonzo Wood Jr., 83, a former resident of St. Bernard Parish, New Orleans, La., died at Guardian Care Nursing Home in Elizabeth City Monday, Jan. 16, 2006. He will be cremated and his remains scattered at sea. Twiford's Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, is assisting the Wood family.
