Patrick Day (1992–2019), professional boxer

Professional boxer Patrick Day died from brain injuries four days after being knocked out in a fight against undefeated Charles Conwell onSaturday Oct. 12, 2019, at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The knockout occurred in the 10th round of the junior middleweight fight after a left hook from Conwell caused Day to fall back and hit his head on the canvas. Day was an accomplished amateur boxer who had won the New York State Golden Gloves championship. He had a professional record of 17 wins, 4 losses, and one draw. He was from Freeport, Long Island, New York, and was well known in his hometown as a top boxer.

Neiron Ball (1992–2019), former Raiders linebacker

Neiron Ball was a former linebacker for the Oakland Raiders who had a standout football career at the University of Florida. Ball was diagnosed with a rare blood vessel disorder called arteriovenous malformationin 2011 which is a tangle of abnormal blood vessels in the brain. He was able to return to playing football for the Gators and was a fifth round draft choice of the Raiders in 2015. Nicknamed cWeezyc by his teammates, Ball played one season for the Raiders before being released. He suffered a brain aneurysm in 2018 and had been living in a nursing facility.

Cara McCollum (1992 - 2016), pageant winner

Cara McCollum, a former winner of the Miss New Jersey Pageant, has died in an automobile accident, according to multiple news sources. She was 24. McCollum died Monday after she lost control of her car and crashed into a tree last week, according to a Facebook page, Prayers for Cara, that relatives maintain. "Thank you all for this tremendous outpouring of love and support for our Cara. We can’t begin to tell you how much your prayers have meant to us in this incredibly difficult time," the page states.
