Connie Martinson (1932–2023), book-focused TV show host

Between the time she launched her interview show in 1979 to its end in 2015, Connie Martinson interviewed thousands of authors from all genres and all walks of life. The “Connie Martinson Talks Books” show began as a self-financed endeavor carried on public television and remained largely self-financed throughout its run. Over the years, she interviewed , , Al Gore, , , , Joyce Carol Oates, and close to 3,000 others, and in doing so helped spread her love for literature to millions.

Richard Lugar (1932–2019), former U.S. Senator from Indiana

Richard Lugar was a longtime Republican Senator from Indiana who was highly regarded for his foreign policy leadership. He served in the Senate from 1977 until 2013. He teamed with Democratic Senator Sam Nunn on the Nunn-LugarCooperative Threat Reduction Program, which secured the dismantling of weapons of mass destruction in the former Soviet Union. Lugar was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013 from President Obama.

Casey Kasem: 4 Decades of the Top 40

Casey Kasem was one of the most famous disc jockeys of all time, thanks to his amazing four-decade run as the host of American Top 40 and other weekly countdown shows. From 1970 to 2009, anyone who loved pop songs knew to tune in every week to hear Casey count 'em down. Sometimes a Long Distance Dedication made us think of someone we were missing, for a while we waited every week to see if Casey's prediction of the next week’s No. 1 song would come true, and we always learned a little something about the artists we were hearing as Casey presented a bit of backstory in his unmistakable voice. Kasem was born April 27, 1932, and there's no better way to celebrate his birthday than to count 'em down just as Casey did.
